Press Release for 6×7, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou:
Charles prepares for a homecoming on his birthday in “O Brother, Where Art Thou,” an all-new episode of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” airing Tuesday, July 21st (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
There are mixed emotions in the DiLaurentis household when Charles declares he is coming home for his birthday. Mr. DiLaurentis wants to quickly get out of town to hide Ali and Jason from their brother, while Jason sees this as an opportunity to finally validate all of the early childhood memories he has of “Charlie.” The PLLs are just as split with Spencer and Hanna seeing this as the best chance they have to capture Charles, while Emily and Aria want to stay as far from him as possible. Will Jason be reunited with his brother, or is this just another of “A’s” traps?
Meanwhile, Mona is shutting Mike out and Hanna gets an unwelcomed surprise.
“Pretty Little Liars” is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and is executive produced by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Leslie Morgenstein and Joseph Dougherty. The series stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse.
The show is about ready to jump time. Marline King talked to ET and explained that the show was going to be jumping five years into the future.
“The showrunner is sad to see the Liars’ teenage chapter come to a close, but she’s ready to go on a “dark ride” when the series time-jumps five years into the future for the second half of season six. “The Liars were a big part of that [flash-forward] decision because those incredible actresses really have outgrown the teenage years,” she explained. “Time was moving very slowly in Rosewood and we were ready to speed it up.”
King also stated that it’s a great way to reset the characters and allow the actors to play a character that is closer to their own ages. Along with that it’s possible that a PLL Wedding is coming too. King stated:
“It’s possible. There are some engagement rings flying around when we come back for the premiere.”
They are currently casting to male characters for recurring characters. Check out the info from TV Line:
It’s still anyone’s guess what the future holds for the Pretty Little Liars, following Season 6’s impending five-year time jump, but we do know their next steps will find them crossing paths with several interesting gentlemen.
TVLine has learned exclusively that two male characters will recur in the second half of Season 6: Jordan, a sophisticated-yet-approachable 27-year-old working in the fashion industry, and Liam, a 24-year-old editorial assistant from Boston.
Could these new additions provide hints as to where the girls will end up in five years? Publishing seems like a perfect fit for budding-writer Aria, and I’ll give you one guess as to which girl I see working in fashion. (Then again, Aria’s current interest in photography also puts her in the running for a fashion-related career, and I could totally see Spencer in publishing. The mysteries continue!)
The biggest piece of news I have that I’m most excited to share with you is that Red Coat will be making their final appearance in 6×10, Game On, Charles. This information comes from Marline King’s Instagram account. I don’t know what we will do without Redcoat teasing the girls.
The rest of this season is going to be good. I’m excited.
