I loved and hated this scene as I was watching it Thursday night on my couch. I just figured we’d be seeing less of Callie or that it would be like when Cristina was off at the Mayo clinic. We’d see her, just in a different place and different people.

I couldn’t have been farther from the truth when it was then announced that Sara Ramirez would not be returning to the Shondaland drama. Ramirez has played Callie since season two, and has been through every possible story line. She was there when George died, when Izzy had cancer, when the hospital was shot up, when the plane crashed, when Cristina left, when Derek died. She has been there.

I can’t imagine the show without her, but then again I didn’t think I could live without George, Izzy, Cristina, Derek and here I am still loving this drama. So while I’ll miss Callie, I am happy that Ramirez had made the best choice for herself.
